Hi,
I am trying to do a structured multiblock mesh using ICEM CFD (ver 11.0). When I tried to change the edge distribution along certain edges (using pre mesh params), it wouldnt let me do this. As soon as I change the number of nodes along an edge the apply button greys out and becomes inactive. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks for your help kpv |

I do have exactly the same problem when I try the 2D Pipe junction tutorial of ICEM.
I think the solution must be very easy, but I'm a beginner to this and can't find it. It may has to do something with the structured mesh. The same number of nodes have to be applied on the opposite edge. Does anybody know, what went wrong? Matze |

hi,
are you dealing with hexa or tetrameshing? If hexa- did you turned on Nodes locked?? neewbie |

I'm dealing with hexa mesh.
And Nodes locked is turned off. Otherwise it is not possible to change the number of nodes. |

there may be two reasons. 1.The hexa mesh license is not installed. Go and find your supplier to install the license. 2. if not the reason above, maybe the block is not generated or something wrong with block. In ICEMCFD, when the hexa mesh is to be done, it is very important to generate the block, after the generation of block, make sure one block (vertex and lines) correspond one hexahedron geometry (points and edges), and then associate the vertex with the points, and lines with edges (edge distribution). |
