Ansys heat transfer

Hi all,

I am new to heat transfer analysis in Ansys and am currently working with the heat transfer analysis of a cylinder. I am applying a heat flux function on one surface and also wish to apply natural convection conditions. However, I do not have access to CFX to accomodate the fluid environment. Instead, I first apply the heat flux condition and then I apply uniform Convection--> On Elements--> Pick All, specifying a value for the convection coefficient and the bulk temperature. When I do so, it does not give me an error or over-writing the flux boundary condition. Could somebody tell me what this condition ( convection on elements) actually means? Does it exclude those elements on which there is the flux boundary condition? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Mark
