See "Best practice guidelines for the use of CFD in nuclear reactor safety applications". The document is available in French and English. Section 5.1.4 describes various turbulence models and their applicability.

In English: http://www.nea.fr/html/nsd/docs/2007/csni-r2007-5.pdf

This is a good reference for other CFD issues as well.
