Default About "Shear strain rate"

Hi,everyone. Here is a question: What does the variable "Shear strain rate" refer to in the CFX-post? I know there is a tensor about strain rate. While the variable "Shear strain rate" is a scalar quantity, is there any relations between the tensor and this scalar quantity?
