Hi,

I want to simulate motion of a valve from 0 to 4mm lift.

based on the lift of the valve,i want to find the mass flow rate @ each mm of opening.

Using CEL how to simulate the valve opening? The time for valve opening from 0-4mm is 0.5sec.

Condition known is 3.2bar on one side of the valve and 2 bar on the other side of the valve.

u must be having data of lift vs time(crank angle) , from this data write equation for a valve lift profile. while giving boundry condition for valve, click on specified displacement and write whatever name u'll give for equation.

Hi,

It gets a little tricky where the valve first cracks open. You cannot squash the mesh to nothing. Options include using a GGI interface to slide it shut or not modelling the final bit to closure.

CFX is not good for this type of modelling, Fluent and StarCD has more capabilities here I understand.
