Default deformed shape after extrusion

Hi,

I am shyam .I am doing a research on plastic extrusion from a die.i need to find the deformed shape after swelling when the plastic (non newtonian) fluid comes out from the die lip.

I am using cfx for this. Can i know how can i assign the material properties and how to incorporate the phase change of liquid to solid.

for the plastic material properties i am using the carreau model to define the viscosity.

I will be glad if any one can assist mein finding the deformed shape after the swell.

Hi,

I know of a research group at the University of NSW who are doing work in this area but I am not sure whether they are using CFX for it or not. I would suggest you consider the specialised plastics injection moulding and extrusion software such as Moldflow or REM3D, they will be far more suitable for this ytpe of work.
