Structural response to fire

Hi,

Can CFX used to model the structural response of steel due to fire? Will it involve FSI?

Technically speaking, it doesn't have to involve 2-way FSI. You could set up the CFD bit in CFX, run the solution, get the temperatures and pressures and export those into the ANSYS Structural package.

We've done some fire modeling for a few building/civil folk who seemed happy enough with this method. It is fairly easy to use and understand.
