Hey guys, I'm wondering if it is possible to have 2 different boundary conditions on a same face for a simulation using CFX? For example, I have a rectangular face and I want the left half to be an outlet and the right half to be a wall. Can this be done?

Any reply will be deeply appreciated. Cheers!

Jeffrey

I think you can do that. You can divide the face into 2 sub-surfaces.Thats the easiest way I can think of

Thanks for the reply Jerry.

I know this can be done by going back to the geometry/model, divide the face into 2 and remesh it again. But given only the mesh file, without the model/geometry available, is it still possible to do it in CFX-Pre?

Cheers!

You can divide the face in CFX-Pre as well. Just right click on the name of the face under "Mesh" (you will need to expand the face list by clicking on the plus box next to your mesh name) and go to Edit Mesh. Check the documentation for the options available. It takes a little trial and error to get the hang of it, but it can do what you are requesting I believe.

Sure! Create an edge/curve on ICEM CFD to divide thos face in two faces or 2 "2D regions" (Part).
