Thermal Stress by CFX

Do you if we can determine thermal stresses by ANSYS CFX 10.0 for solid domain?

Hi,

CFX cannot do this. Need FSI to a FEA software.

Can you tell me what is FSI? Is it a module that I have to buy and if yes from whom?

Thanks Riken

Hi, The best you can do, its to export the temperture field and calculate a Thermal-mechanical in Ansys or another FEA software. You should check if there is need of doing a FSI caculation depending on the degree of coupling of the deformed shape (becouse the thermal strain) and the fluid field.

Best regards.

Hi,

FSI - Fluid structure interaction. That is coupling the fluid flow to structural motion. CFX does the fluid flow and ANSYS Mechanical does the structural motion and the different simulation packages are linked to do a FSI simulation.

Re: Thermal Stress by CFX

Thanks for response, Please have patient while reading as this may describe my problem better. Well actually I am interested in findiding thermal stress generated in solid domain which is heated by some fluid flow. In order to do this I carried out analysis in CFX and I found temperature profile in the solid, Now the issue is to find thermal stress by this results. I tried to export this results in *.CDB, *.CSV for to load in the ANSYS workbench, but I couldn't do it. Do you have any idea if we can do?
