Monitor flow through a cross section inside domain

Hello All, I want to monitor mass flow rate through a cross section inside my domain (no real plane exists there). How to create such monitor? Can I create a virtual plane in CFX-Pre? Thanks, Kushagra

Not sure about creating a plane in pre but you might try meshing with the "one part, multiple bodies" method. Basically you go back to the CAD and split the model where you want to have an interogation surface. In Workbench (or whatever mesher you're using) you import both separate geometry files and then tell the mesher that both pieces create a single part. In Workbench you simply highlight both parts in the work tree, right click and select "create new part" or something similar. Be sure to give the interface surface a sufficiently tight mesh as it will want to use a 1:1 connection. In Pre, when you create your monitors, simply reference one of the interfaces.
