ICEM mesh

Hi All,

I am trying to mesh a pipe with an indentation on the extruding inwards. I tried using blocking method in ICEM 11 but it meshed the whole cylinder (including the hollow part in the middle). How can I fix this?

Another query, how do I insert boundary layers? I have done this in WORKBENCH before but not very familiar with ICEM meshing.

Thanks! CC.

Re: ICEM mesh

You might use extrude mesh tool in icem cfd to make your 3D geometry, since a 2D drawing.

"Another query, how do I insert boundary layers? I have done this in WORKBENCH before but not very familiar with ICEM meshing."> itīs very simple. First, make the Volume mesh (for tetrahedrons) e use the button called Prism (in red), at Mesh Tab on ICEM CFD. U can choose the number of layers and the size of each one for your Inflated boundary.

Hi,

I've found the prism and the inflated boundary option.

For my other geometry; which is 2D(same shape), meshed using "2D blocking" and "convert to unstructured mesh", how would I insert boundary layers for that one?

Thanks CC.

only a 2D mesh?

Yes, I want to put inflated boundary layers on a 2D mesh.
