steady simulation

Is it possible to do a steady simulation for a specified physical time, for example, 30 seconds?

Re: steady simulation

I have learned: steady state = time-independent and transient = time-dependent. So the answer is NO. Of course it is possible that I have not understand your question.

Re: steady simulation

What do you mean by steady for 30 seconds?

Re: steady simulation

I mean that:

I would like to simulate a case, cavity with laminar natural convection, with 30 seconds (this number, its just an example, ok?), but for a physical time. I dont want to analyse my problem after it arrived to steady state*. (supposing that it* takes 90 seconds, for example).

Is it possible to set up it on CFX-Pre using a steady state simulation?

(sorry, because my english is so bad!)

Re: steady simulation

I was simulating 2 types of regimes:

With transient, i have the maximum and the minimum, respectively, 29 C and 5 C.

With steady state simulation, i have the maximum and the minimum, respectively, 18 C and 5 C.

The files are stored at:

File "question_steady_or_transient.rar" (192 KB) with link: http://rapidshare.de/files/40199582/...sient.rar.html

Question: Why did I have these different results?

Cheer up!
