Hi

I want to simulate a safety valve used to protect the LNG (Liquefied natural gas) leakage with CFX moving mesh.

Can anybody tell me the material properties of LNG such as dynamic viscosity and thermal conductivity at cryogenical temperature (-162 degree).

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

There is a very useful book called 'LNG materials and fluids' by Douglas Mann, from 1974 I think. Can't give you an answer because the properties depend on the precise mixture (LNG is actually a mix of gases) and the origin of the gas (LNG from Brunei is different to that from Qatar, for example).

But that, and everything else you ever wanted to know about the properties of LNG is in that book!

Cheers, latslosh
