maximum mesh expansion factor reg

hi when i was meshing air volume with inflation, iam getting successful mesh, but in solver maximum expansion ratio showing 101.9 and i am unable to get the convergence. Can any body help me, how to reduce maximum mesh expansion factor and tell me and tell me how can i see the maximum expansion factor while doing the mesh.

Thanks

Re: maximum mesh expansion factor reg

Hi,

that's tricky and I am interested in same problem. I have reduced my expansion factor including proper prism layer design but never below factor 200 (turbo problem). next item: in ICEM you can check under "check mesh" --> quality --> volume expansion. the values are not the same in solver and ICEM.

hi, I think mesh expasion factor for complex geometries cannot be controlled in the given CFX range espically when you are doing a tet mesh+ prism layers.

Actually you need to check out in post where does this max value exist in your domain , and later try to see how to improve your surface mesh variation near by that region.

Personally thinking Mesh Exp for 100 or 200 it not a problem for convergence,,, what turbulence model are you using ,, try out the first order advection scheme for faster convergence

I hope this helps
