Default 2D Simulation

I'm trying to carry out a 2D simulation. I've read the CFX documentation along with numerous posts on here. However, what I am not sure about is the periodic boundary condition on the left and right faces (or front and back if needs be). Can this be symmetry as well as the top and bottom faces?

Once again, any help will be appreciated.

If you are trying to do a 2D simulation you should use symmetry planes, not periodic boundaries.
