Hi i have a simple problem, one vertical flat plate enclosed in a enclosure.Enclosure allfaces are adiabaic except bottom face which is opened for air circulation, plate is heated by passing electrical current. From electrical current and resistance and volume of the plate volumetric heat generation is obtained.we are interested at tempertures on the plate. we have tried in cfx by varying differnt options but we did not get the converged or consistent results. one of my question is can CFX solve this type of problems, if answer is yes try to solve this problem.

Thanks NVSD BABU

Hi,

It is very likely that a steady state simulation will not work, you will need a transient simulation. Natural convection simulations like this often lead to large scale transient effects which a turbulence model cannot "smooth" out.
