Macro for CFX-Solver: Exporting the monitor data

Hello everyone,

I have a question which I could not figure out using the manual. In the cfx5solve-Monitor, it is possible to export the data sets which are used for plotting the monitor charts (residuals, monitor points, etc.). My aim is to do this not interactively but by using a script or a macro. I could not find any corresponding command in the manual.

The other possibility would be to write a backup file at every time step. However I only need two calculated values (drag and lift) rather than the whole flow field numbers - so a full backup would be a tremendous waste on disk space. Is it perhaps possible to include only the desired force values in the backup files and not the whole flow field?

Thanks for any idea!

Regards, Andy

open a command line from cfx5launcher. Write cfx5dfile -help. There should be a option like read-mon or something like that. You will receive the complete monitor data in ascii format. You have to interpret by your own.
