Combining bodies in CFX
Hi All,
The short version of my question: I have a problem with CFX-Pre being very very slow in a geometry with lots of sub-bodies within each mesh. I'm looking for advice on how to recombine sub-bodies into one larger mesh body. The longer version: The mesh matches perfectly at the boundaries of the sub-bodies as they were created by a single ANSYS meshing application mesh operation. Decomposition of the geometry into sub-bodies was necessary to get a good mesh using the ANSYS sweep mesher. However, I now need to make 40 copies of this mesh in CFX-Pre to model my domain, and I end up with >1500 mesh sub-bodies in CFX-Pre a result and CFX-Pre becomes very very very slow. Any advice on how to recombine mesh sub-bodies, or to speed up CFX when may sub-bodies are present would be very welcome. Many thanks for your advice, andy2o |
Not exactly an answer to your questions, but instead of so many copies of your mesh, could you make use of symmetry or periodicity boundary conditions?
