Hi, I need help I have to determine outlet or inlet pressure in coolant chanel in turbine vane. I have the fallowing parameters on inlet: diameter, Reynolds number, mass flow rate and avarage temperature. The fluid is air ideal gas. I need this to add bundary conditions in CFX. If somebody know how to do it, or what anoter condition i can set please help.
Thanks and regards. |

Hi,
This is a pretty basic question - have you done the tutorial examples, especially the ones on turbomachinery which are supplied with CFX? They are the best place to start. Glenn Horrocks |

Hi Glenn, and thanks for replying.
I know that it’s basic question but I’m new In cfd and it is my first project. I would like to set mass flow at inlet boundary conditions and static pressure at outlet but I cant calculate this pressure. In my work I use data from this experiment http://gltrs.grc.nasa.gov/reports/1983/CR-168015.pdf for Mark 2 profile. If it possible give me some directions how to do this, or what other boundary conditions I can set, having only those data. Regards |

Hi,
As I said, the place to start is the CFX tutorials. For incompressible flows the outlet pressure is usually set to zero and pressure is offset by that amount. I have not had time to look at your document at the moment so I can't give detailed comments. Glenn Horrocks |
