Export Msh from ICEM CFD 11 to Star-CD4.06
 

Good Morning Everybody,

I have 2D simulation, i made the 2D Hexa Mesh in ICEM-CFD 11 to solve it
in Star-CD 4.06, but when i try to Export this mesh by selecting the solver
Star-CD 4.06 I receive this error Message ***

Running ANSYS-ICEM CFD 11 Star- CD 4 interface vers11.0.1
Error exit This Interface only supports 3D Mesh
Error in Translation
************************************************** **

Please if someone can help me, I am in a waiting for your response

I think the message speaks for its self... That export format only supports 3D mesh and you are trying to export a 2D mesh...

I will talk to development about it.

In the mean time, you could try extruding your 2D mesh by some thickness (just one cell) so that it is a 2.5D mesh...

Try 3.2 format
 

STAR-CD 3.2 supports 2D meshes, but apparently not STAR CD 4. Not sure why...

Could you try to export in STAR-CD 3.2 format? The newer version of STAR can probably still read it.
