Thermal conductivity in CFX

Hi there!

I have a question concerning thermal conductivity in CFX.

In Ansys Workbench i can define this material-dependent variable but in CFX i didnīt find where to set this value. Can you please explain me where to find this option? And, if there is no option to set, could you explain me why this parameter is not important for CFX?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

You can set different thermal conductivities for various materials in CFX. In CFX-Pre it is under materials and a few tabs under that (don't have CFX in front of me so can't tell you exactly what - I know you have to expand a few things to see it).

Hi!

Thanks a lot, found it!

Use this equation (an example, of course) below with A and B for you own material, named A and B constant variables in CFX-Pre:

Thermalconductivity
(B*(19453.29701*(T/A)^3.07678)/(4.73947^3.07678+(T/A)^3.07678))

A 1.0 [K]
B 1.0 [W m^-1 K^-1]
