Velocity Loss Models

Hi All,
Could you please help me to expalin the difference between the superficial and true velocity loss models? How that affects my results for my given volume porosity and loss co efficients? Thanks in advacne! |

Hi All,
I will be grateful if you can help me about the following: 1. I am using the Volume poros model to model the car radiator. For that, I have Pressure drop cuve by wind tunnel experiments. I have found linear and quadratic co efficients also by curve fitting method. Then, from the CAD drawing I found the volume porosity as well. Kindly suggest me how can I get the exact porous model of the car radiator. 2. Whether should use Tru velocity or Superficail Velocity if I use Isotropic loss model? Thanks in advance! |

hi,
1)if u haven't tried the tutorial try to do it first. 2)you can use both superficial and true velocity models.it depends what velocity you used, when you use to calculate resistance coefficients. 3)if u need just the pressure drop only you go for loss models.or if u need the velocity variation across the porous media you go for other models. |
