angle of attack
guys, i wanna simulate wing 3D. there are any parameter which have to modified such as reynolds number and angle of attack. iam slightly confuse related to both of reynolds number and angle of attack. in which part at cfx that contain about two parameters above? thank you very much

Hi,
CFX is a dimensional solver so it does not directly use numbers like Re and AOA. You have to set the mesh up to have the AOA you want, and you have to set the boundary conditions up to give the Re number you want. Glenn Horrocks |
did you mean that i have to set AOA from geometry itself? so, if i would like to simulate a geometry with six kinds of AOA, i have to make six geometry? i think that it is enough to make a geometry and vary the AOA in CFX solver.

In the Boundary conditions of your Inlet Boundary you are able to define a Inlet angle. But this is a far upstream condition.
So with the upwind potential influenz of your wing the real angle of attack will be a little bit different. Greetings Sven |

Try to generate one mesh to each AoA. It is more secure. If you will really use a 3D wing simulation, you will have to change the aspect ratio of the wing, to account for the finite width effects. Best Regards, Paulo Rocha |
