hello!!!
I try to track the center of a ball moving as an immersed solid in CFX 12. Therefore i created an expression like areAve(x)@Location to keep the center y-coord. tracked as a monitor. CFX-Pre is telling me: The function 'areaAve' referenced in parameter 'Expression Value' in object '/FLOW:Flow Analysis 1/OUTPUT CONTROL/MONITOR OBJECTS/MONITOR POINT:yPos' has a disallowed argument, 'y'. The solver does not support the use of this variable in this context. Any idea how to avoid such? There must be an option on how to track the coord. of smth. within CEL!!?? Waiting for better ideas. neewbie |

Hi,
I have never used the immersed solid feature as it is new in V12. So I have no idea how to access these variables. Hopefully there is a tutorial example to help you through it. Otherwise have a look in the reference manual under CEL Expression language as it lists all available variables in CEL and hopefully what you are looking for is a CEL variable. Glenn Horrocks |

Hello, neewbie
I have the same problem to make position tracking of the moving immersed body. You said the you solved that problem. However, I cannot understand what is the "(xyz)Global on a 2Dentity". Could you explain more detailed how to solve that problem? Thank you for your help in advance. ckddud |
