ANSYS Multi-physics and CFX coupling error
Hi,
I will be grateful if some one helps me to debug this problem. We have recently installed ANSYS (V10.0). We are trying to run FSI problem by coupling ANSYS multi-physics and CFX. But the analysis comes out with the following error: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- MULTIFIELD ANALYSIS BY SOCKET COUPLING: MASTER CODE SETUP SYNCHRONIZATION POINTS FOR DATA TRANSFER CREATE SOCKET CONNECTION Port number = 49800 Master Socket number = 1 Number of codes = 2 Slave ID: 2; Socket number = 2 FIRST SYNCHRONIZATION POINT OF MASTER CODE: GET CODE INFORMATION FROM SLAVE CODES *** WARNING *** CP = 5.500 TIME= 13:51:02 Error in get code VERSION through Socket 2 . ********************* MF_send_Error Msg: UNKNOWN IERR 0 *** FATAL *** CP = 5.500 TIME= 13:51:02 Error during get code info. Please help me!!!! Thanks in advance... Anujit |
Hi,
Can I ask why when you "recently installed" it you installed V10? That version is something like 3 years old. The current version (V12) has had many refinements of the FSI interface and it should run much better. Don't waste your time with old software. Glenn Horrocks |
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Our group is very new to this field. We are trying to explore this field. We got access to the setup file of ANSYS v10.0. I don't think we have V12.0 setup. In fact in my previous organization, V11.0 was installed only in Dec, 2008. Thanks and regards, Anujit |
Hi,
I repeat my previous post - if you have recently got CFX then why did you install an old version? You should have got the current version so you should install that. My second point is that FSI is much improved in V12 so your problem will probably be resolved. Third, don't waste your time on old software. If your time has any value at all then it makes sense to use the current version. Glenn Horrocks |
