Hi,

I'm completely new to the Ansys products, I have to do an analysis as part of a thesis using ansys cfx.

So far I have gone through most of the tutorials. Unfortunately I still dont quite understand the process of creating and analysing a model.

What ansys product should i use to create the parts i wish to mesh and analyse?

I have looked and it is quite hard to find step by step general instructions.

Any and all information would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

If you want to stick to Ansys you should have design modeller for generating 2D and 3D geometry files. But I prefer to use a more dedicated 3D design package like Solidworks. If you use the software for educational purpose only, you can get a free license for Solidworks.

I recommend you ICEMCFD.It is integrated with CFX in ANSYS V12.0. So you dont need new license for it.
