does Anyone know about the new features and capacities of new version? Will we alvbe to make a 2D simulation for student purposes, eg?

I'm pretty sure that 2D simulations will still be done by creating a 1 element thick 3D simulation. Since CFX is a 3d code, it would take an entire rewrite of the code to make it 2d as well.

I donīt think so! īcause, when u have a quase-2D simulation (or 3D simulation), we have a different formulation of conservation equations comparing to a real 2D formulation. When u work with vorticity-stream formulation, instead of primitive variables, working with 2D simulation, u have different equations for vorticity, eg...

maybe ansys inc. could add more schemes for diffusive terms, and not only use a linear scheme and also add a possibility to put more points of integration when u use a kind of element, for example, hexahedrical element. I wanted to compare the results in modifying this schemes for diffusive terms when iīm studying my heat conducting problems (without fluid flow, as air or water, eg).

No chance.

You do have the choice of a few diffusion interpolating schemes. But high order elements - no chance.

The list of stuff which is coming with CFX V12 is on the CFX-Community website so no need to speculate.

Glenn,

Whereabouts is the list in the website? Are you talking about the Customer Portal, as I cannot find it. Thanks.
