Free Surface Modell & stratfied Flows

Is the surface Modell convenient for stratified flows, in which entrainment (drops breakup, ) or change in flow pattern?

Free surf flow

Free surface modeling is convinient if you require a sharp interface solution bet liquid and gas phases. Droplet dynamics, breakup effects etc...are actually nice cases where Free surface modeling can be applied. I have made a list of articles on free surface modeling in my blog. Let me know if it helps.

Thanks,

thanks for your reply, i have already read a part of ur blog very interesting but i don t want to make the mesh very fine because i try to model not to make a dns. I am later interesting in Droplet breakup for which i must integrate a subroutine (capillary wave, stripping, etc,,,) Do you think, even with not a fine mesh i can use the inhomogeneous free surface model and which eqs use this model?
