Hi,
on our Linux cluster we have to start cfx5pre and cfd5post with "-gr mesa" to be able to start the programs. If we dont, the terminal windows crashes and the ssh connection dies. I suppose it is graphics related and that there is something that isn't (properly?) installed on the cluster, anyone have an idea of what it can be?

cheers
Lance

The default option for CFX-Pre and Post uses OpenGL. Most terminals don't support OpenGL. That is why you need to use the mesa graphics option.

Glenn,

I understand that, but the thing is that I can start the program and load a case, and then it crashes. If openGL werent supported I shouldnt be able to start the program at all, right? Or am I missing something here?

Yes, if openGL is not supported it should not even start. I can't explain it crashing when you open something.

I had similar issue. I needed an update of graphics card driver. (As far as I understood it was firmware error in the OpenGL). Consequence was an error for specific OpenGL calls.

Thanks for the info joey, thats what I expected... so far I haven't been able to get any error messages when the program crashes since every terminal window dies, but I'll hopefully figure something out.
