torque calculation

Hi to everybody,
I need to calculate the torque on the object I'm studying.

I usually use this expression:

torque_z()@object (1)

in order to calculate the z component of the torque.
In this case the software will automatically calculate this torque considering the origin global axis point as reference point.

In my case I need to calculate this torque considering not the origin of the global axis but the "moving" origin of a new local axis system.

Do someone know how I can modify the expression (1) in order to solve my problem?

Thanks in advance

Ciro

A bit of basic mechanics can do it. Draw some vector diagrams and work it out.

Hi ghorrocks,
thank you for your reply but I think I was not able to explain my problem well.
I needed to write an expression in CFX pre in order to calculate the torque respect a a moving centroid of the planing hull I'm studying.
In the meanwhile I think I've solved my problem...now I have only to test it!
Thank you again!
