Actuator Disk Model
I tried to simulate a ducted fan in a wing with the actuator disk model. But I couldn't set up the pressure jump boundary condition. So I just set the inlet of the actuator disk to the outlet boundary condition and the outlet of disk to the inlet boundary condition. And I put the same flow rate for them both. As a specified pressure jump boundary condition would correspond to a certain flow rate through disk, I believe my setup should generate the correct and unique solution for the case. Unfortunately the result does not converge very well. Have any of you folks similar experience?
My second thought is to set up a separate finite domain for the actuator disk and include a momentum source to generate a pressure increase. Is there any suggestion for this? Thanks.
