solimcfd is on a distinguished road
I just recently started using CFX, so I am no expert. I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a cylindrically shaped volume with one inlet. At the beginning the volume contains only air and then slowly a fluid is poured inside. I would like to simulate the fluid entering the inlet and filling the volume and at the same time how the air leaves or is displaced.
My first problem is that this fluid inlet is at the same time an outlet for the air. I am not quite sure how to define the boundary conditions for this surface.
Another issue I have is the interaction between the air and fluid. Do I need to use a multi-phase model, and how should I best do this?
I would appreciate any help! Thanks

Try the free surface flow over a bump tutorial example which is installed with CFX. Assuming what you are talking about is where you have distinct air and liquid phases this is a good introduction.
