Hi! I am trying to have my particles enter a pipe/vessel in a "ring". I have used a bunch of trial and errors with no luck. The cone injection options i thought would work didnt (point cone, hollow cone, ring cone, full cone). I figure i must be doing something wrong.
Thanks for all your time! -max |

I have recently done a model where I wanted the particles injected in a line of over 1000 points. There seems to be a limit of about 25 points when doing it by CCL, so the only way is by using a fortran routine to set the locations. Then you can stick them whereever you like.

Hi!
25 points is more than enough for me. I used both a full cone and a ring cone method. I also tried an annulus (changing the inner and outer radius). still i can not get a "ring" of approx 25 points. Is there a way to set up the points where i want them exactly for the 25 points without writing code? i can upload some screen-shots if it will help. thanks again! |

Define each injection point as a cone with zero angle. Each injection point has its location defined to go around the ring. This can all be done in CFX-Pre or CCL so no fortran.
