I am trying to generate a single wave in CFX (or Fluent) with decay.

Is it possible to model such wave in CFX?

Got to use this equation,

y(t)=A * e^(-lambda*t)*cos(omega* t+phase)

Thank you

Hi

Yes, this should be possible in CFX by implementing few expressions.
Actually there is an ANSYS tutorial setting up a similar case. You can download it from the ANSYS customer portal, the tutorial is included in the CFX FSI Training (it is the case with rigid body solver).

In Fluent if you use open channel model there are already some wave boundary conditions implemented, so you will need to specify a wave theory and few input parameters.

I hope this helps.
