Hi everyone,

Im working on a multiphase problem on CFX and I've noticed that there is an option to use "interface compression (default value=2)" for free surface problems. There isn't such information on CFX manual, even a citation. I've also looked for in forum, but apparently anyone knows too.

Does anyone know what this option does on fluids interface?

Ill be glad if anyone explain this for me,
Willian

Sometimes these are documented in the release notes for the CFX version it is introduced. You might have to go back a few versions to find it. Otherwise talk to CFX support.

But I would just try it and see if it improves things. If it does not improve things then revert to the default.

Thanks for the advice Gleen! I've found some information on realease 11.0 features:

"Interface compression level for interface sharpness, where 0=none, 1=standard compression, 2=enhanced compression. This helps convergence, but increases cost."
"The default for "Interface Compression Level" has been changed to from 1 to 2. The new default is often helpful to improve interface sharpness."

I still don't know how exactly it works, but I'll try use it and see if it changes anything. Anyway, thanks a lot for your helping Gleen!
