Hello CFX Users,

I am modelling heat transfer in slip regime. In order to model temperature jump boundary condition, I defined thermal contact resistance between solid domain and fluid domain (at the interface). However, thermal contact resistance is a function of pressure of the fluid domain. I tried to use variable "Absolute Pressure" in the expression but CFX does not recognize it at the solid fluid interface.

Does someone have an idea about using the variable of one domain to the expression of another domain or interface?

Kind Regards,
Volkan

What is the error message and when did appear? Depending on that it can be decided if its possible to overwrite some rules.

Thanks for reply joey2007. CFX solver gives the following error:

+--------------------------------------------------------------------+
ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction.
Message:
NAME_MOD: Error finding variable "PRES"
+--------------------------------------------------------------------+

CFX is not able to find the pressure variable at solid-fluid interface. Pressure variable is only defined for fluid domain, then CFX does not allow me to use a variable of fluid domain at the interface.

Kind Regards,
Volkan

Guess your the thermal resistance is calculated on the solid side by the solver. I do not have recipe for that. Just some ideas:
 • User fortran with use of internal solver calls. This is not possible without intense support from ANSYS.
 • Structural FSI requires also pressure on solid side. May be there is way to make use of it.
I would call the support.
