Burner flame position problem in CFX

Hi to all,
i done a burner simulation in CFX. I used EDM for combustion. But i get the flame far away from near burner zone.i done same problem with Fluent by Mixture Fraction model and got flame at right position(near burner zone).now what i should do in CFX?

What is mixture fraction model in fluent??????

In CFX:
  • AS widely known for the EDM (independent of which code) you have to tune the constants.
  • Alternative: Use the appropriate mixture fraction based model for CFX (flamelet or Zimont/TFC)

hi joey,
1.In fluent, am using non premixed combustion model using PDF table.

2.In CFX, which constants i have to tune?

3.From my knowledge, i have to tune reaction parameters (activation temperature,Pre-exponent factor) in De volatilization reaction. Is it right?give me some hints to tune the parameters.

thanks for quick reply.

volatization? Many people think implicitly of homogenous gas phase combustion when they talk of combustion modelling. You should better describe what you are doing.

Well, why didnīt you look at the burnable volatile mass fractions. If there are not high enough at the right position then you should consider the arrhenius constants.

Hi joey,
i don't have arrhenius constants values for my coal.So i have to tune the constants to get the flame at right position.Volatile mass fraction is low(21%) and High Ash coal (42%).i have to do furnace model next from this results.
