Argon gas inside a steel tube?

Hi everyone,

Welcome back after easter.

I have a general doubt about whether it is possible to do the simulation in Ansys of compression of a gas inside surrounded by a steel tube and compressed by a metal which is 50% of the volume inside teh tube with only the pressure at the interface of the metal and argon given?
If so what is the setup i have to use. should i use CFX? or static structural too?

Sounds possible. Do you want to model the crushing process? What are you trying to achieve with the simulation?

Hi,

I want to calculate the compression of the gas due to the metal.

Why do this in CFD? Doesn't this follow a simple compressible gas law so can be calculated manually?
