What is ANSYS MFS ???

Hello all,

I would like to know what is a MFS. This video in youtube (link below) which shows the flow over a cylinder is done using ANSYS MFS. I am trying to do the same thing.

Thank you very much.

MFS = Multifield Solver. It has nothing to do with CFX. MFS is used to couple different elements together in ANSYS. In this case I would guess some structural or rigid body elements for the cylinder were coupled with some fluid elements. It appears that the flow field is solved, so I would assume the fluid elements used are based on the old Flotran CFD solver. Flotran really isn't used anymore, but it's still there inside ANSYS.
