Modeling of particles in a Fluid
Hi, how do I model particles in a fluid and how can I see their behavior when subjected to external disturbance? Can I do it without particle injection? Thanks.

You can either model particles directly with particle tracking (ie lagrangian) or as a continuum (ie eularian).

Can I check how do I choose the Lagrangian method? Will ANSYS CFX be able to display the static particles in the fluid, under no loading or flow? means just the particles floating around the fluid or consolidating at the bottom over time?
Thanks. |
Do the tutorials for how to run a particle tracking model.
CFX can model particles under no flow and get them to slowly sink. CFX cannot model building up a bed of particles with particle tracking, however. |
Thanks Glenn, I did almost every tutorial for ANSYS CFX but I did not see that tutorial. Can you enlighten me which is it? Thanks in advance!

I am not in the office today so I cannot give you the exact name, but several of them use particle tracking. I think the butterfly valve one uses particle tracking to get erosion rates. That is one example.
