newer version of Fluent/ CFX Vs. CFX11?!?
 

Hey;
I'm simulating the NREL wind turbine model with CFX11 but I want to use a newer version of Fluent/CFX.

At this stage, my plan is to investigate the different turbulent models( DES, SST, SA) and transitional flow.

I have some questions now.

1- I read the REF[1] about a transitional model and its better prediction of wind turbine performance.
which software and which version ( Fluent or CFX) has this model ?

2-Do you have any information about the advantages of the newer versions of CFX/Fluent or over CFX 11 about the use of turbulent models? is there any newer turbulent option or influential modification available in newer versions of CFX/Fluent that can really affect the results?

CFX has the transition model. Not sure about Fluent, I think V13 has it but I am not sure.

The reference you quote is an excellent one, it shows the benefits of the turbulence transition model in CFX. I think this is a strong argument to use the turbulence transition model in CFX as that paper shows it works well. It will hopefully also give you some tips of how to implement it properly.
