Distribution in the inlet boundary condition

Hi all, I am doing a whole cycle simulation of a compressor stage using ANSYS CFX12.0, the inlet boundary condition is Total Pressure, but this total pressure is not merely a value, it is a circumferential distribution. Does CFX can figure it out, how? Thank you firstly,

Sincerely,

BalanceChen

If you know the circumferential distribution then you can apply that as a boundary condition.

If you do not know the distribution you cannot use this boundary condition. Obviously if you do not know the pressure you cannot define a pressure boundary.

I am sorry that i did not put the question clearly. In fact I know the pressure distribution, and I wonder how to apply this circumferential distribution as a boundary.

All you have to do is to define a function like a XY plot that will define the pressure distribution as you want & use it as an boundary condition. Other way could be to use step function to define your inlet boundary total pressure settings.

I hope this helps

cheers

Thank you very much, pratikmehta, I will make a try.
