Heat balancing problem in coal combustion

Hi to all,
Am doing a coal combustion simulation and i got converged results.but my query is, can anybody give me a procedure or idea of how heat balancing is to be done in single inlet and single outlet model using CFX post.
thanks in advance

A converged solution should conserve energy, so energy in equals energy out. Is that what you are asking?

yes ghorrocks what you said is right.
1) i have hot air and coal+air mixture in two different inlets and i get flue gas (co2,o2,N2,H2O and etc of different mass fraction) at single outlet.

2)In CFX post, i can get Temperature,Specific heat,Static enthalpy variables at various boundaries(Inlet, outlet, walls). But i can't get energy directly. So using this variables how i should do energy balance or is there any other way to do this? can you explain me.

You can get energy - just integrate the enthalpy over the boundary condition and you will get energy flows.

thanks ghorrocks.i will try that.

hi ghorrocks,

i tried that what you had told. i got output unit (SI) m^4/s^2(energy flows).if i need (Watts(SI) or m^2/s^2) as output what i have to do? i need your reply.

thanks in advance.
