need help with heat transfer in cfx

hi

I'm using cfx to represent air flow inside an engine intake system and I want to apply cooling at certain parts of this system

I want to know how can I apply heat flux (+ve or -ve) in cfx

please help

thanks

This can be done on boundary conditions, volume sources, point sources, interphase coupling and many other ways.

What type of heat flux do you want to apply?

simply all I want to do is apply on the intake system geometry (imagine its a primitive cylinder for simplification now) cooling using peltier's cells (electric refrigeration cells) and see how this affects the density of air and the mass flow rate at the outlet .

so its cooling for certain parts of the cylinder wall or even setting its temperature constant and passing air through it and then seeing how this affects air properties

The simplest approach then would be to make the walls have a defined heat flux equal to the heat extracted by the coolers. Simple.
