Need advices for simulating vortex shedding of moving cylinder
 

Hi there,

I am new in CFD and really need you guys' help. I'm trying to simulate Vortex shedding when water flow around a circular cylinder. Many experiments in scientific papers constrained the cylinder with spring and damper systems to get the movement of the cylinder in cross-flow and in-flow direction when the flow pass it. The problem is with Ansys CFX, I tried to use FSI to simulate it but do not know what constrains in structural analysis is suitable for the requirement above. I also tried Elastic support since it is similar to spring constrain but because I have no ideas how to apply this kind of constrain to the model, it didn't work out. Please give me some advice about this problem. Do I have to constrain some DOF before apply "elastic support" ? thank you in advance for your reply.
