Errosion rate calculation

Hello All,

I am working on simulating a sand/liquid propane mixture traveling through a pipe. Of interest to me is the erosion rate, and the time to failure for the pipe. I have figured out how to simulate erosion using particles, however, the errosion rate given in CFX by default gives me no idea of how long before the pipe fails. What I would like to do is take the erosion rate values given in CFX (kg/m^2/s) and multiply that by the area of each element that the value is given for. With this, I can figure out how long the pipe has until failure.

Does anyone know how I can access the erosion variables and the corresponding elements to calculate this?

I have looked through the documentation available to me, however I can't find any info on accessing particle variables through an expression.

any help would be much appreciated.

Also, is there any way to specify the material properties of the domain boundaries (in this case, the pipe wall), such as hardness values, in order to get the same properties of steel. I've entered the best coefficient of restitution that I could find for steel, but is this the only option?

Thanks again
