Hello! Everyone, Today my computer was abruptly shut off during calculation of CFX before the accomplishment of the calculation and the calculation was an unsteady one. Now in the working direction there are file ***.out and a document folder named as ***.dir but without the file***.res. So can anyone tell me what shold i do to continue the calculation like that in FLUENT with autosave function.
Thank you in advance! QTP |

use the last .trn file in the .dir directory as an initial value file and take "continue history from".

Sir Lance:
Thank you very much. But where is the "continue history from" ? My CFX edition is Ansys CFX 11.0 and it seems that there is no "continue history from" in the Define run panel. Or it is at somewhere else? QTP |

CFX has backup functions like Fluent. In fact CFX's function is much more powerful. Have a look in the output tab in CFX-Pre. In a steady state run you are looking for a backup file or in a transient simulation you are looking for transient results files.
Remember there is a minimum amount of information you need to put in the file to allow you to restart from it, and the more you put in the smoother your restart can be. |

Sir ghorrocks:
Thank you for your advice. I am a novice for CFX and familiar with FLUENT, so I am accustomed to think comparing with FLUENT. I think I need to spend more time to study help document of Ansys CFX. Thank you! QTP |
