Hi, while solving a flow trough a porous media (no perm, no Res.loss coefficient), the solver stopped, saying an overflow problem had occured. As boundary conditions i have velocity of the inlet flow and presssure in the opening, which i guess are the most robust boundary conditions to get convergence. On monitor points the velocity of one of the points reached amazing high values, which is obviously wrong.
With normal fluid media and same boundary conditions it worked perfectly! is there anything strange i should know about porous media?? here the solver data OUTER LOOP ITERATION = 49 CPU SECONDS = 7.755E+03 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- | Equation | Rate | RMS Res | Max Res | Linear Solution | +----------------------+------+---------+---------+------------------+ | U-Mom | 1.62 | 2.6E-03 | 2.0E-01 | 2.2E-01 ok| | V-Mom | 1.10 | 2.6E-03 | 1.7E-01 | 1.7E-01 ok| | W-Mom | 1.43 | 3.9E-04 | 3.2E-02 | 2.3E-01 ok| | P-Mass | 1.10 | 3.2E-04 | 5.6E-02 | 8.6 4.1E-01 ok| +----------------------+------+---------+---------+------------------+ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. | | Message: | | Floating point exception: Overflow | | | | | | | | | | | +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ +--------------------------------------------------------------------+ | ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. | | Message: | | Stopped in routine C_FPX_HANDLER: | | | | Could someone help me tpo solve the problem?? |

Do a search on the forum for floating point error. Been asked thousands of times.
