hello, everyone,i am doing a heat transfer simulating, a heat flux is regarded as heat source, but its location is at the interface of air and steel, how can i apply it correctly?i used to apply it at the boundary of solid wall(steel),but the result seems to be wrong beacause there is no heat flux toward the air.

Make the steel/air boundary an interface, and apply a heat flux to the air side of the interface.

... as a boundary source term on the Sources tab for the interface boundary condition.

I've applied a heat flux to either the air side or the steel side of the interface, but both results gave high temperature that were obviously incorrect according the my experiment.

I made the heat flux as boundary source in the simulation, and the result temperature met the experiment data well, but the heat flux calculated by the function calculator(with areaInt) in CFx-Post was far more less than the value I gave in the boundary source,I am very confused about this, could you please explain it?I am new to heat transfer analysis and looking forward to your kind help.

hi
i wonder why the heat flux must be at the interface of air and steel? and do you mean that you are going to make the heat flux toward both the air and the steal? |

In my experiment,I make a band that generating heat stuck to the interface steel/air interface, could you tell me how to apply this heat load to the model?I've done the simulation many times without any reasonable result. |
