regarding pump analysis
 
pls tell me that how can i define the density of blade material in CFX.
I have designed the pump in bladegen, Meshing in turbogrid and analysis in cfx. I h've defined blade as wall but i/m unable to assign density if the blade material.


also tell me that will maximum element volume ratio 17 will create any problem in analysis?

What type of simulation are you doing? The blade density is only important if it is an FSI simulation, or if you are working out blade inertia properties for transient behaviour. Are you doing this?

There is no general as to whether vol ratio 17 will cause a problem. Simple flows it is fine, complex flows (eg multiphase) it may be a problem.

simulation is on effect of silt (sand) on impeller (blades) of pump.
I have to study silt erosion effect on blades of pump . Yes multiphase.



can you tell me how i can remove errors in meshing (some tools, tricks etc)

i just want to study the effect of erosion in blades made of cast iron..so i want to specify density of material

I am not very familiar with the erosion models, but after a quick look through the documentation it appears solid density is not a parameter used in the model. It uses an empirical erosion factor, some reference velocities and an angle. If you do not know these poarameters for your material you are going to have to do a literature search to find it. Otherwise just use the values listed in the documentation.
